identifying
the limitations.
  • The old website was outdated and cluttered, making it difficult for visitors to find church information, news, or contact details.

  • The mobile app and the website ran on separate data sources, so parish, clergy and event information often didn't match between platforms.

  • Content had to be updated manually in multiple places, leading to delays, inconsistencies, and duplicated effort for the church's administrative team.

  • Navigation across church, faith, institutions and administration sections was inconsistent, confusing users who moved between the app and the website.

  • There was no dedicated way for priests and parish admins to manage content directly — every update depended on developer involvement.

revamping
the experience.
  • Built a single, common data management structure that powers the website and both mobile apps, so every platform always reflects the same information.

  • Designed a dedicated Priest App as a lightweight CMS, letting clergy and administrators manage parishes, clergy directories, news and content directly, without developer involvement.

  • Rebuilt the public-facing Marthoma app in Flutter around a clear Church, Faith, Institutions and Administration structure, mirroring the same navigation logic across web and mobile.

  • Delivered the new church website in WordPress, restructured around the same content model, so information stays organised and consistent with the mobile experience.

  • Redesigned the UI end-to-end for both platforms, replacing the old cluttered layout with a clean, modern, mobile-first design that makes church, faith and administrative information easy to browse.

one data source,
three apps.

Previously, the website and mobile app pulled from different data sets and followed different navigation logic, leaving users with two disconnected experiences. We solved this by designing a common data management structure that both platforms draw from, ensuring that a parish, clergy, or news update is instantly reflected everywhere. On top of this shared structure, we built one website and two Flutter mobile apps — a public app for the community and a dedicated Priest App that serves as the CMS — giving the church a single source of truth across every platform.

easy navigation.

The new experience is structured around four clear pillars — Church, Faith, Institutions and Administration — consistently applied across the website and both apps. This gave visitors a predictable way to find parish details, prayer guides, scripture, clergy directories and news, replacing the disorganised, hard-to-navigate structure of the old platform with a logical, easy-to-browse hierarchy.

The original website and mobile app served two disconnected experiences, with mismatched content, inconsistent navigation and no way for the church's own team to manage updates.

During the rebuild, we tackled challenges like consolidating years of parish and clergy data into one structure, and designing navigation that felt native on both web and Flutter mobile.

The final delivery included a revamped WordPress website, a public Marthoma app, and a Priest App built as an admin CMS — all sharing one data management structure, giving the church consistent, easy-to-navigate information and full control over their own content.
